Early Life
Meddy was born on August 7, 1989 in Bujumbura, Burundi. His mother was Cyabukombe Alphonsine and his father was Sindayihebura Alphonse. Unfortunately, he lost his dad when he was young.
His parents were his music inspiration since his dad played guitar and his mother used to teach him, Bob Marely songs.
Apart from music, Meddy loved boxing and he felt he would be a better boxer than a great artist.
He was notorious and used to fighting with his classmates while in primary school. Between 2000 and 2003, he trained in Boxing although his mother forbade him.
In 2010, he moved to the United States and settled in Chicago following an invitation from the Rwandan community living in Washington.
He was joined by other artists like The Ben, K8 Kavuyo, and Cedru, who continued to release music under the Pressone record label.
Education
He attended nursery school at Ecole Independante in Burundi. He later transferred to Ecole Primaire St. Joseph and Ecole Primaire La Colombiere after his parents relocated to Rwanda.
After his primary studies, he joined La Colombière Secondary School where he studied mathematics and physics.
He has also studied Actuarial Science at Tarrant County College in Texas where he continued his adult life.
Musical Career
Apart from the inspiration he got from his parents, he was a member of the Justified singing group at Zion Temple Church in Kigali.
At the church, he sang with other Rwandan artists and producers like The Ben, Mucyo, and Lick Lick. Eventually, he used to be a gospel artist before shifting to secular music.
His first singles produced by Lick Lick that made him famous all over Rwanda are ‘Ungirira Ubuntu, Akaramata, Amayobera‘ and ‘Ese Urambona‘.
In 2010, together with Ben and others, they received an invitation from the Rwandan community living in Washington. They had gone to perform at a concert and decided to stay.
In Chicago, they joined the Pressone music label where they continued releasing more songs.
He made international recognition when he released his son slowly. the song was well-received by fans all over the world.
‘Holy spirit ‘hitmaker has collaborated with artists like Otile Brown, Willy Paul, Rayvanny among others.
Family
He is married to Mehfira Mimi and together they welcomed their first child in 2022.
The couple lives in Texas U.S.

He dated an Ethiopian girlfriend named Mehfira Mimi. Mimi had featured in his song ‘Ntawamusimbura‘. He introduced her to her mother in 2018 during the Christmas eve.
