Diamond is a Tanzanian Artist whose real name is Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack. He was born in Tanzania on October 2, 1989, at Tandale in Dar es Salaam. He is a bongo Flava recording artist, dancer, philanthropist, and businessman.

Diamond Platnumz is the founder and president of one of the biggest record labels in Africa — “Wasafi Classic Baby” simply pronounced as “WCB Wasafi”.

The Tanzanian-based “WCB Wasafi” record label has its Television and Radio Stations namely Wasafi TV & Wasafi FM.

Artistes signed to the WCB Wasafi record label include Zuchu, Rayvanny, Queen Darleen, Lava Lava, Mbosso, and formerly Harmonize.

Diamond Early Life

Diamond also has two blood sisters, Queen Darleen and Esma Platinumz, and an older brother, Romeo Abdul Jones, also known as Rommy Jones, who works for him as his DJ.

Simba lived together with his mother and grandmother. His father was out of the picture then. Their life at Tandale was not pleasant as his parents didn’t have reliable sources of income. They stayed in a 3 bedroom house, but they had to share one bedroom and rent out the remaining two rooms to have a monthly income.

Education

He completed his Primary level in 2002. In 2014, he was awarded with an honorary degree by the University of Dar es Salaam in for his role in exporting Tanzanian art and culture.

Career

Diamond’s music journey started when he was a young boy. he would sing and tey mimicking other artists. His mother played a vital role in nurturing his talent by taking him to shows and buying musical albums for him.

In 2010 he released his first single ”Kamwambie” on his debut album titled with the same name, “Kamwambie”

After gaining motivation, he realesead another single in 2016 entitled Kidogo. In this hit he collaborated with the Nigerian R&B duo P-Square, with a sample from Lionel Richie’s All Night Long hit.

 Diamond Platnumz 2014 made history at Tanzanian Music Awards with an insane winning. He was named the best male writer, and best male artist, and he received many more awards that night.

Platnumz released his third studio album, titled A Boy from Tandale, in 2018 following his acquisition of a record deal with Universal Music in 2017. (2018). Diamond and his record company, WCB Wasafi[5,] joined forces with Warner Music Group to form a 360 Partnership in the year 2021.

Diamond Platnumz has worked with both international and African artists.

The international artistes are Rick Ross, Ne-Yo,  Morgan Heritage, and Omarion.

The African superstars include Davido, Tiwa Savage, Patoranking, P-Square, Flavour N’abania, Waje, and Iyanya, among others.

Relationships

He dated Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan and together were blessed with two kids Latifa and Dillan. He has other kids with Hamissa Mobeto a Tanzanian socialite and a Kenyan artist Tanasha Donna. His sons’ names are Nillan and Naseeb Junior respectively.

Diamond owns 6 cars. They are Toyota Landcruiser V8,  Toyota Landcruiser TX, BMW X6, Cadillac Escalade Black Edition, Cadillac Escalade Sky Captain Edition, and a brand new 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The following video shows some of Diamond’s cars.

Diamond is also said to have upto 10 properties.

Diamond House in Tanzania

His latest house, the state house, comes complete with a gym, dance hall, studio, basketball court, and a darts playing area.

He also has a house in South Africa and is planning to build others in Kenya and Rwanda.
